Do you ever feel as if you spend your entire life wondering about the “what if’s”? Or what about spending so much time reliving your past that your present is staring you right in your face?
So much of our lives is spent facing life with frustration and doubt and worry.
As i sat enjoying some of lifes little things that we often take for granted … I had a thought….
What if every blade of grass worried if they were next to be trampled on? Stepped on? Broken? Just to grow up with faith and love and nurture from Gods bountiful warmth of the sun and his ever-flowing rain from the sky, only to find themselves torn with such anguish that maybe that was the day it was all over. I sat on the steps leading to my parents house with my camera in hand staring at the grass that lined the walkway. Sure, it may need a little trimming and obviously starting to take over the walkway…. but it just looked so fresh, so green and so nurtured from all the rain we have had the past two weeks. Just weeks ago, everything looked brown and barren from hurricanes whipping through our islands. But through faith and hope, just a few short weeks later, I was sitting there staring at such a beautiful sight. In time, those blades of grass got watered, warmed and tended by God himself… and they grew without a doubt in the world.
How often do we find ourselves just sitting around full of doubt…. when really all we need is to be watered, warmed and tended by God. Worry heals nothing. Worry accomplishes nothing other then giving us unnecessary stress and grey hair. Worrying and Doubt feed off all the negatives and the What If’s in life. It can be full of destruction and lead to the life in which we did not want and where striving so hard to stay against. Just like that blade of grass…. sometimes we are broken and limp in need of warmth and love. Worrying does not stop us from getting broken… but sometimes worrying can lead our hearts to be broken in ways we never dreamed of. I found an equation for Worry ….
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7
Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you– 1 Peter 5:7
